This week's question comes from Jolanda: I'd like to ask if you see a new man soon entering into my life who'll love me?

I will be doing Three Card Spread (pictured above) with the positions as: Past, Present and Future. First we see the Knight of Wands in the Past position. His face is turned towards the past, not the future - suggesting that Jolanda has ended a relationship and it is clear cut that this is not coming back into her life. Wands are about action and this card also shows an energetic shift in her life that has been important for her to create space for someone new to enter.

The present card is the Ace of Wands - but this is reversed. I always find Aces to be indicative of a fresh start but when the card appears upside down, it can sometimes suggest a delay. However, I feel that this card says that Jolanda is just starting to get out there and make herself available. She is at the beginning stage of making the effort to meet someone new. She'll need to take her time with potential suitors and enjoy the excitement of new possibilities. The next few months could be a rebirth for her SELF as she finds her power or "groove" again.

With the Ace of Cups in the future, this is a definite YES to Jolanda's question. A new love will be entering her life soon - and this looks like a great emotional match for her. This is a good time for her to open herself up to new people as one will definitely hit the mark emotionally - the love she seeks is close at hand.

( I'd like to add that soon means different things to different people. I usually interpret "soon" as within 6 months - but an Ace can also indicate a year long process. Does that seem long to you? Not to me but for the impatient types this could feel like a long road ahead!)

LuvScopes ~ February 5 to 7, 2010

Take a deep breath in. Exhale ever so slowly. *ahhh* There it is ... that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. Although lingering, the major strain of Saturn and Pluto is behind us (for a few months). This weekend, Jupiter (ideals) swoops in to the rescue, giving us a more optimistic outlook on whatever difficulties the past few days/weeks may have brought. His efforts are supported by Mercury (communication), who aligns harmoniously with Uranus (surprises), and Venus (love), who blends energies with Chiron (healing) and Neptune (hope).

The Scorpio-Moon (heart) gets in a pickle with the Sun early Friday evening, starts off the weekend a little rocky. Thankfully, Jupiter's alignment with Saturn and Pluto lessens the sting of the scorpion, as we are made aware that there are solutions and we are in control to make reparations.

Saturday from a little before noon until early evening the Scorpio-Moon is void of course and in quiet reflection. Venus blending energies with Chiron and Neptune allow for forgiveness, release, moving on and finding our zen. Though our hearts finds calm, our minds are restless – planning, analyzing, brainstorming. With the help of Mercury and Uranus, we may just arrive at brilliant, cleverly charming ways to whisper sweet nothings in our beloved's ears. The Moon enters Sagittarius around 7p EST, offering up an evening of fun and possibly some surprises with Uranus still in play. Love and romance are still dreamy and imaginative with Venus and Neptune linking up. There is such a thing as having too much fun or at least overdoing things, especially with Jupiter, who does everything grand, and Pluto, who tends to get obsessive, happily throwing back a few together.

Sleep in on Sunday to get past the Moon-Mars conflict early in the morning which may just be an unpleasant awakening to the previous night's festivities. As for the rest of the afternoon, the Sagittarius-Moon is quiet until Monday morning.

Sunday may require you to tend to obligations, help out others. So, get your couple time in early on.

Leo-Sun or Rising ~ Get family obligations Friday or Saturday during the day. Then, spend a fun Saturday night with your sweetheart, indoors or out. Love is in the air, despite Mars still moving slowly in your sign. The Moon cozies up in your house of love while Jupiter gets settled in your house of sex. Make the most of the weekend!

Virgo-Sun or Rising ~ Whether you choose for this to be a light or heavy weekend, Jupiter now gives a promising opportunity to approach and deal with existing (perhaps unmentioned) relationship issues at their core. Mercury and Uranus gives the weekend an unpredictable, perhaps unconventional, but pleasurable twist.

Libra-Sun or Rising ~ With moods lifting and the air less suffocating, a little shopping and/or pampering may be the preferred way to celebrate. Spend the energy and money on the things/people you value in life. Even if it's not your style, be generous with affection this weekend.

This week's question comes from Shabnam: "I have been involved with a guy for approx 19mths now. We both have deep feelings for one another but he wont 'take that step' and admit his feelings are more than friendship.For this reason I told him that if he only sees me as a friend, then we need to stop talking since I my feelings go much deeper than that. My question then is: Does he only feel 'friendship' feelings for me - or something more and he is taking some time to think things through?"

I am doing a Three Card Spread (pictured above) with no positions defined. The first thing that catches my eye is the Hermit reversed in the middle of the spread. This indicates that the fellow in question is indeed pulling away and needing his space. Often times the Hermit suggests a period of withdrawal in order to find answers. Reversed, fear enters the equation and this changes the nature of the withdrawal. Now the man in question is afraid of making the wrong decision and afraid of losing her at the same time. This is creating a back and forth pull - and one that is not resolved easily. Fear is always difficult to transform - and it will be harder for him if he feels pestered in any way. This also implies that he may be looking for excuses to bide his time - another strategy that may be covering up his fear of taking the friendship to the next level.

With the 2 of Wands reversed on the left, this amplifies the Hermit reversed. Again, it suggests retreat, pulling away, the need to be alone. These two cards also indicate a level of maturity needs to be reached by him before he can commit to a relationship. Perhaps he is young or simply "not ready" for the responsibilities that a long term relationship requires. The other way that these two cards could be interpreted is viewing them as the questioner - so we could also say that Shabnam needs to keep her boundaries intact with him until he is able to reach a decision. This requires her to also be mature and not be too impetuous or pushy! She will need to respect his space but at the same time, not allow him to treat her as some sort of "booty call" or "friends with benefits" in the meantime.

Notice that the 3 of Cups is also here on the right side of the Hermit reversed - this is an indicator of happiness and a positive outlook. Oftentimes we see this card when there is a happy reunion. To me, this is a cautiously optimistic sign that these two may indeed one day figure it out and come together as a couple. I say cautiously because the other two cards are not quick moving and indicate a need for time and maturity. If Shabnam can find a way to approach this with wisdom and keep a dialogue open for honest communication, these two may indeed have a chance for more than friendship.

The tension growing between retrograde-Saturn and Pluto that we inherited from 2009 perfects again this Sunday, just a day after the Full Moon in Leo on Saturday (Friday for some). Also hovering in the background this weekend is the lingering but weakening Aquarius-Sun's opposition with retrograde-Mars in Leo and the growing frustration between Jupiter, now in Pisces, and Saturn.

Friday begins with the waxing Moon donning the brave and willful personality of Leo, followed by the Sun and Mars at odds but seeking harmony. What we want/plan/wish for may not actually be reflected by the decisions we make or actions we take. As we become aware of it, we attempt to find the balance or make the necessary compromises to meet our immediate goals.

At 1:18 a.m. EST on Saturday (10:18 p.m. PST Friday), the Leo-Moon becomes full, blends energies with Mars while opposing both the Sun and Venus, shining light upon the delicate balance between our emotional nature (Moon) and conscious will (Sun) and how that reflects upon our motivations (Mars) and relationships (Venus). Much later in the evening, the Moon opposes Chiron then Neptune before becoming void of course, allowing us to heal or make amends and find some hope.

Sunday morning, the Moon enters Virgo then proceeds to oppose Jupiter and trine Pluto by the afternoon, just before the culmination of Saturn and Pluto square. This conflict between Saturn and Pluto revisits their first meeting last November. Events or issues resurfacing now may be linked or reminiscent of last fall.

This week's question comes from Cynthia: I conceptualized a business and got it started middle of last year...then needed more funds to get it launched! I seem to be stuck and I keep wondering if I should let it go or press forward!?

I will be doing a Three Card Spread (pictured above) with the positions defined as Past, Present and Future. Notice that there are two cards from the Cups suit and one from the Pentacles - this is a sign that Cynthia's idea was very creative! However, you can see that two of those cards are also reversed - indicating that she is indeed stuck in a rut. With no Wands present, this also suggests no forward movement.

The Three of Cups in the past position shows a sense of joy and fun in the planning of this enterprise. It probably didn't even feel like work. Often that is the case when we are doing something we love. Cynthia has put a lot of heart into this and initially, there was growth and promise.

But now with the 4 of Cups reversed in the present, she is not only stuck and out of funding, but unable to see how to move out of her situation. She is looking at options and none seem to be very grounded or practical. Her plans are on hold until she can find a new direction. This may be a good time to look for advice or help from her peers rather than push on as is.

With the Ace of Pentacles reversed in the future, financial issues persist. This also points to delays and an inability to get this business off the ground. This may sound negative but look closer - the cards are not showing a total loss. They are simply non-productive and show no action. Cynthia's best option is not to give it up entirely - but put it on hold until the resources are in place to make this a go. It may take about a year for anything to take root. At this point it is a labor of love and will remain that way until the funding and proper channels are there to help Cynthia make her dream come true.

Tarot Affirmations: Knight of Swords Meditation for Perception

Becoming part of the imagery is a necessity as it allows all senses to be encountered. Proclaiming and vocalizing your personal statement out-loud 'seals your agreement' with the Universe. Disciplined practitioners sense a significant change within seventy-two hours of repeating the oath. Inexperienced users must understand that it can take a little longer until you find your own rhythm to encounter the magic of will and assertion. Quiet: Sit for a few minutes alone, with eyes closed and a goal to relax. Calm all thoughts and emotions until you are aware of the quietness that surrounds you. With slow and deep breaths, feel yourself float into this calm energy, feeling your body and mind also adjusting to this quietness. All the noise disappears and you feel at peace. Pay attention to the soundless spirit, as you cleanse and exist with the silence.

Visualize. In this mini visualization, the Knight of Swords will assist those who seek Perception in their lives. This meditation helps to enhance vision by crystalizing awareness. In a defense mode, you must quiet your breath and listen to all that surrounds you, from the leaves rustling in the wind, birds singing, or the clock ticking in the room. As you strain your vision to search beyond the haze, you continue to quiet your breath, controlling your breathing while blending it in with the silence. Be aware of every sound that is around, and become one with each sound, until you hear it no more - focusing on what awaits in the distance. Not a sound is heard as you detach yourself from the noises that are close to you. Each move in your step is methodically planned, so that your tunnel vision is not disturbed. Listen to the silence, then stretch your listening skills further than you ever have. Pay attention to what you might not have heard if you weren't so focused on it. Make a mental note as to how sharp your listening skills have become now. You are the watchful soldier, the observant and perceptive Knight of Swords. Your vision is keen because your hearing is sharp. You separate the distant vibrations, from the common noises. And like the soldier who pauses with patience and attention - it's not the daily chatter that we should find ourselves sensitive to, but instead to the silence, where true sounds of expression exist.

A retrograde-Saturn dominates the weekend. Both Venus and the Sun happily align with Saturn, but Saturn is afflicted as he and Pluto continue to inflict pain upon each other. The Aries-Moon is void of course Friday afternoon through the evening. She enters the grounded sign of Taurus just a little bit before midnight, where she stays all weekend; and upon arrival, quickly harmonizes with Jupiter, who is happy to carry away whatever baggage we may have been carrying from the day or the week.

We wake Saturday morning to the Moon linking up with Pluto and Saturn, establishing a serious tone for the day. Before noon, the tension between the Moon and Venus becomes apparent, and our stubbornness may get the better of us. A chance for conversation and repairing strained relationships is offered before the evening begins with the Moon's friendly link to Mercury who is “as a matter of fact” in Capricorn. But these discussions, even with the best of intentions, may only offer a temporary truce. The Moon and Mars, who is still retrograde in Leo, get in a tiff before the night is over.

We take refuge in getting a reprieve on Sunday when the Moon is quiet all day. Early evening, however, even within the comfort of Taurean stability, the Moon's emotions are stirred by a link to Uranus. The evening and weekend crescendos with the Moon provoking Chiron and Neptune, who rehash the events of the past two nights and decide that agreeing to disagree might be the best solution. The quiet of the Moon's void of course at 10 p.m. is a welcome end to the weekend. Monday morning, the Moon enters friendly and social Gemini.

Capricorn-Sun or Rising ~ Your ruler, Saturn, under attack by Pluto who is in your sign, may cause for some introspection this weekend. This could be a frustrating time, especially if what you're enlightened with is not an acceptable picture for (of) you. A quiet weekend with your love might be the preferred activity for the weekend. Jupiter in your money house might give you the urge to splurge. If so, just make sure to pick something up for sweetheart, as well.

Mystical Mondays

Every Monday, I will choose a question sent in by my readers and answer it here. Because of the large volume of mail I receive, there is no guarantee that your question will be answered.

This week's question comes from Francesca: I am interested in this guy, and I do think he is very interesting, maybe not as mature as me, but still there are things about him that I do like.
I'm wondering if it's going to go anywhere or should I just forget about him.

I will be using a Three Card Spread (pictured above) with no positions defined. The first thing to catch my eye is that all three cards are Reversed. Some tarot readers do not work with reversals but I do as I feel they can indicate a blockage in the energy of the card. With all three upside down, this is a sure indicator that this relationship has issues right from the get-go.

The Knight of Swords reversed in the middle is the focal point for me - this card can indeed indicate a man with maturity issues but it also has a feeling of rushing, unbridled energy and a lack of stability. This says to me that the man Francesca is interested in may be in a stage of life where he is living rather carelessly. He seems to be living in the moment and not too concerned about creating a long term relationship with anyone. This is impulsive energy and somewhat wild. Men like this can be very fun and exciting to be with but they certainly are not ready to settle down.

With the World reversed, I wonder if there is some lesson that Francesca is repeating with men. Is she consistently choosing guys who cannot give her the love and adoration she deserves? This is a good time for her to reflect on past choices and ask herself why she is putting energy into men who are unwilling to commit or offer her the deep connection she longs for. Her current love interest seems to be part of a pattern she has been repeating.

The reversed 2 of Swords reinforces the unstable energy here. It indicates that Francesca should not be sitting around waiting for something to develop with this man. This card also suggests that she already knows this deep inside but was perhaps hoping it would be different this time. It's time to remove the blinders and begin looking in a new direction. I would recommend that Francesca also start to look at where she could perhaps make better decisions in her choice for a mate.

Notice the lack of Cups cards - that also says loud and clear to me that this man is a fleeting interest at best and the emotional energy to sustain this relationship is not available.

The Capricorn-Solar Eclipse occurring in the wee hours of Friday morning kicks off the weekend, followed by Mercury's direction change at noon and then, the Moon's entrance to Aquarius, where she remains all weekend. Sunday night, Jupiter enters Pisces and bids farewell to the weekend. Adding to the flavor of the weekend are Saturn and Pluto (yes, you read it correctly) still hovering and meddling, while also dragging a reluctant Mercury into their disagreement. Elsewhere but nearby, Venus and the Sun share enjoyable moments as they spend their last few days in Capricorn.

Friday's eclipsed New Moon charges us up for a new cycle, renewing our objectives and making plans to achieve them within the next six months. Mercury supports this directive as he begins to move at his normal, speedy pace. The Moon, right at Mercury's heels, slides into friendly, forward-thinking Aquarius. By evening, the Moon and Saturn are happily aligned for a night of friendly banter. Saturday is thankfully quieter, allowing us time to reflect upon all that's transpired within the past 24 hours. Retrograde-Mars is a free agent all weekend, except for the few hours Saturday evening when the Aquarius-Moon pokes at him and stirs a little trouble. Early Sunday afternoon, the Moon chills with Chiron and Neptune before going void of course from mid-afternoon and throughout evening, giving us the license to get some much needed downtime before taking on a new work week. Cancer-Sun or Rising ~ A Solar Eclipse in your relationships house...oh the possibilities for the months to come. Single Cancerians, you may very well get coupled up in the near future. Happily involved Cancerians should grab their sweetheart and celebrate such an auspicious beginning to the new year – the first new moon as solar eclipse and in your partnerships house. Sad, broken-hearted Cancers may just find the upcoming months healing and by summertime, your heart will be ready to love again :)

Leo-Sun or Rising ~ The Aquarius-Moon in your relationships house makes this an ideal weekend for some quality time with your loved one. But Friday's Solar Eclipse in your house of work may have you working late Friday night.
